As Global Head of Aerospace Services at SGS Group he was responsible for the development and implementation of global business strategy for aerospace services. During his time in China, he served as General Manager of Wind Energy Technology Center (WETC) in Tianjin. The technology center for testing of composite wind rotor blades up to 80 meters in length was built on greenfield and provides today innovative services in the field of lightweight and composites for the wind industry in Asia-Pacific.
Previously he worked as a group leader in Engineering at Magna Steyr Fahrzeugtechnik in Graz, Austria. With a newly established team of experts, innovative products and manufacturing processes for automotive alternative storage systems have been developed. Composite pressure tank (type IV) for storage of natural gas (200 bar) and hydrogen (700 bar) belong to the products.
After studying aerospace engineering he made scientific contributions to structural mechanical design of composite-metal hybrid structures and the development of NDT methods at Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing in Berlin, Germany and wrote his doctoral thesis on the optimization of composite gas tanks.
